Meet Mrs. Claus and Santa Brad

Meet Mrs. Claus

Mrs. Claus, also known around the house as Lisa, has been helping Santa Brad for about 20 years.  However, she adopted the persona of Mrs. Claus about 6 years ago.

After she attended her first Santa event, as Mrs. Claus, after the first child, after the first hug, and after the first smile, she was hooked; she has been working on the art of Mrs. Claus since.

Mrs. Claus is no stranger to working with children.  She is a Special Education Teacher working in an elementary school setting.  She has been doing this for more than 35 years.  Her teaching experience has helped Santa Brad a lot when meeting and greeting children and parents.

She is well educated too.  She has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education.  (Smart cookie and everyone knows Santa loves cookies.)

Santa Brad and Mrs. Claus are the proud parents of 2 red-headed daughters, Annalise Christensen and Sarah Bailey, and one red-headed granddaughter Joanna.  Santa crew also includes Adam Christensen, their son-law, 4 cats, several chickens and one future child or dog, coming February 2018, (soon to be named Blitzen.)  Everyone helps to keep Santa Brad and Mrs. Claus jumpin’.

Mrs. Claus says, “I love Christmas, love children, love the holiday spirit and of course, I love Santa Claus.”

Meet Santa Brad

I am an Employment Counselor working full-time for the State of Utah.  I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Training and Development and Public Administration.

When I was a child and I dreamed about what I wanted to be when I grew up, Santa Claus was nowhere on the agenda.  Policeman, Knight, Professional baseball player and other things were on my list.  The fat man in a red suit was just not a thing any kid wanted to be.

I didn’t have any idea how important being Santa Claus would become.  I first received a visit from a friend in 1992 asking if I would volunteer for a local fund raiser. She gave me a suit with a beard and a wig, (which I did not need). Sub-for-Santa needed a Santa and I had a short white beard an ample figure and a willingness to help. After some initial reluctance, I agreed to put in a Santa suit and be their Santa.

I was instantly intrigued with the charm and mystique of being Santa.  From that day, all of those years ago, I’ve been striving to be the best, most authentic, Santa Claus ever. If I was going to wear the Santa suit and portray one of the greatest legends of all time…well, I wanted to be the very best Santa I could be.  Mrs. Claus began attending Santa events with me and the joy and fun has increased immensely.
